*For those of you looking for places to offroad on the Eastern Shore!*

Myself and a buddy did a "Tacoma Trial Run" at a Jeep offroad park up in MD on the eastern shore. Its a shut down golf course that the new owner cut trails and built obstacles through. Tons of fun and not really difficult! Previous to our trial run he was not letting anyone over a 115" wheel-base in due to departure issues on some of the traps and sharper turns around some of the trails. After our successful run he said he will now let Taco's in! Also because of insurance and legal reasons it's still "technically" a golf course. The longest "hole" is about 100 feet. You can actually bring clubs, and pull off the "cart path" to play 15 to 100 foot holes of golf.

This is a great place to spend a couple hours at. Its located in Berlin, MD so its a stones throw from Ocean City. There is camping near it for you primitive types! It's also a stones throw from Assateague State Park which allows you to offroad on the beach, fish, and camp as well. Burley Oaks Brewery is about 10 mins away from the offroad park, so you can grab a couple of craft brewskis afterwards.

If you go, tell them Mike and Chase (The trial Taco's) sent you!

    INFO:
Name: Deer Run Offroad Jeep Golf
Open: 9am to Dusk, Thur - Sun
    Owner: Justin
    Location: Berlin, MD
    "Greens Fee"(Cost): $40 a day/$30 with membership

Party Size Recommendation: 2 to 10
Time to complete course: 45 mins to 2 hrs depending on group size, skill level, photo ops, or how busy the park is.

Looks pretty cool man, I wouldn’t mind smacking a ball around although I can’t golf worth a shit.

Damn y'all, I had heard of the flooding problem down in the Norfolk area but hadn't been down there much... Drove around ODU during that storm yesterday and was basically boating. Heavily debating a diff breather mod now... That's insane down there.

Get your frame coated too if you're gonna be there for a while.

Partly why I always had a taco in college. While others were cramped in the left lane on Hampton blvd...I would just roll in the right without any vehicles in front. I always wondered how Norfolk never tries to fix their drainage issues.

I have had two friends get their vehicles flooded during class when they were at ol dirty. Both vehicles were totaled...and these events happened pretty fast, but I havnt been to the campus lately so maybe they have developed some elevated parking since then.

I attend ODU now and have learned there to pretty much get my car to Hugh ground during storms. Not that it won’t make it, it’s just that I don’t want that shit water going throughout my frame and undercarriage. Usually they’re pretty good about making delays, cancelling, or doing whatever it takes for people to make it too and from classes safely because they know this is a problem. Depending on which way she’s coming from depends on how much water she has to go through. If she’s heading North from campus, Hampton Blvd is a crap shoot. If she makes it past the Taste Unlimited right before the bridge, she’s probably safe the rest of the way. But there’s often heavy flooding up until then. If she heads South on Hampton Blvd, she should be good as long as she follows till it turns into Brambleton. If she tries to take a side street heading East off of Hampton, she might make it a little distance before coming up to something too deep to pass through. I’ve got a 4Runner and my old room mate had a Civic. During any heavy rain, we’d park his Civic in a parking garage above the first floor just because we knew what was coming

Glad to see they have gotten better about canceling. When I was there we had hurricane sandy and all that...it was annoying to see that ODU didn't cancel our classes until almost 12 hours after the Navy had already deployed out to sea in the hopes to avoid damage. Same thing would happen all the time in the winter with all the elevated bridges...NOB gets closed on time so folks can still plan. Half the dirty peeps get in early to try to avoid the cluster getting to class and then it gets canceled last minute. That shit used to drive me up a while man...one of the many reasons why I wont rock any dirty stuff on my ride ever.

Thanks for the tips! I definitely got caught on Hampton trying to head north during that, and that seemed real sketchy.
