Ok, so I've lived in Tidewater/Hampton Roads my entire life (hate to admit it but 50+ years) and I have seen all kinds of severe weather and how it affects our area.

I'm not saying that hurricanes should be taken lightly, but does anyone else think that the current response which includes mandatory evacuation of zone A, and closing of all area schools until further notice is a bit drastic and premature considering the storm is relatively small in diameter and is not even expected to make landfall until Friday or Saturday more than a hundred miles away?!?!?
    :annoyed:

Oh wait! I hear it might snow this winter. We had better all go out and buy sand and snow shovels NOW
and make sure the schools stay closed until next summer. :goingcrazy:

Ok......let the shit storm commence. :crapstorm:

I tend to agree the school closings and evacuations were a bit premature, especially now with the storm severity in our area lessening every day. But I guess better to be safe than sorry. I feel for the folks that left and spent unnecessary money and are missing work.

Way overkill on the schools and evacuation that early. Even before the storm wasn't expected to be seen here until Thursday. They did an mandatory evacuation before NC even did theirs. Sandbridge is like quite ghost town and it seems like they are calling for less and less now.

Any hampton roads Gen 3 Tacoma owners interested in a used but in good condition set of slim line AVS in channel window rain guards? Removed them off of a 17' with less than 6k on it. All they need to install is a roll of double sided 3M tape you can get from an auto parts store. Not trying to get rich... but looking to get $20 for them.
