All you need is access to the base.

I’m held up today but oceana is closer to my place than my puddle pirate base in Portsmouth. I’ve got a fj case and spicer carrier bearing/bushing I need to install

I kinda skipped through the thousands of pages of messages on this thread but does anyone know of clubs/groups in the Hampton roads area? If so how do I get in contact or find them? Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! I am located in southern Chesapeake. I have had my Tacoma since June and this past week I started doing some research to lift it. The information is mind numbing and I think I have forgot how to tie my shoes now. Last week I visited two of the local offroad shops to get pricing. One was closed on Saturday when they said they would be open and the other quoted me what I think is ridiculous price with some high pressure sales.
Bilstean 5100s with possibly a 1" spring spacer in the back if it needs it. Method rims, 285 70 17 Nitto Grapplers and alignment for $4,000. My budget, so they offered same thing but on my oem rims with wheel spacers ( I am scared of those but they assured me they are fine) $3,100. I am now thinking about doing this myself.

If $4000 is your budget, don't mess around with spacers and bilsteins. Get some coil overs and rear resi shocks for less than that. Probably get some rear leads and UCAs and still be around $4k.

Install is easy. Buy some pizza and beer and we'll get that installed in an afternoon or two depending on how many ppl we can get to come out.

X2 with @StAndrew im in greenbrier area and I’ve installed a ton of lifts. Buy the parts, pizza and beer and it’ll get done lol. There’s plenty of us in the area with experience and would love to help out rather than you waist your money on basically a 500$ lift kit.

Don’t do it. Research a lot more on here. Come meet up with members of this forum. Plenty of us are willing to help you out with advice and actual physical wrenching.

Anyone else need to install the ecgs needle bearing? I need to do mine but wanna see if anyone wants to go in with me on the tools to install it. I just saw someone on Facebook came up with a tool that’s supposed to be better than the ecgs tool.

It’s a sleeve that replaces the needle bearing in your tcase on the drivers side. That bearing grenades pretty early especially when lifted. You’ll get a rotational vibration at low speeds in 2wd that goes away in 4wd if it’s blown

Those are easy. Coil overs are normally already put together and leaf packs are a straight forward instsll
