They are if your doing coil overs at the same time. You’d have to take it somewhere after to go get an alignment

If you're doing UCAs, get 2 new upper bolts if you don't want to bend the inner fender in your truck. IMO it's easier to just cut the bolts and install new ones from the other direction but I have OCD like that.

I've done it both ways now (I install lifts for a lot of members here) and I prefer the bend method. The key is having the right tool for the job. I use this and there's no issue getting it bent back far enough for the bolt to slide right out.

Yeah same here... On a customer's truck I always gave the option but on my own, I'm super OCD and would just give the bolts the chop.

do you guys have issues with your trucks drifting a little to the left on 264 / 64 when driving in the far left lane?

2nd alignment now, this last one done by toyota. sales manager says it's pulling left still but "straight as an arrow" on vb blvd.

He thinks it may need new tires and he'll pay $600 towards cost of a new set, which is another thing I need to look into, which tires to get?

It's probably a slight crown in the road to help with drainage that's causing it to pull. If it's straight elsewhere, that's the most likely guess.

true. i have a loaner tacoma but can't get to the highway at the moment to test.

still, i think my truck could use new tires so will take him up on his $600 offer. what tires are you guys running? It currently has bf goodrich rugged terrains but I'm not sure what the dealership has in stock.

There was someone else on here in a similar situation, and IIRC they had to be tires Toyota sells and the selection was terrible. The rugged terrains were the only AT. Unless you want a street tire, in which case that’s perfec.

Rugged Terrains are on the truck now. He said he would reimburse me $600 if I get tires somewhere else. Still, I dont know where to get them or which tires to get.

I dont "need" mudders but would like to hit Nags Head/Corolla beach at some point. Dunno what tires I'll need for that.

Just dunno what the logistics of all that will be. I buy tires somewhere else, take them back to dealership, have them put on, new alignment, without truck another day or two. This is a pain in the ass. lol

Oh that’s super cool that your selection is open. Discounttiredirect’s eBay store should be having a sale coming up, where you spent above $400, get $100 off. So find tires that are above $200 each, and make two separate orders of two tires. Save $200 and have the dealer reimburse the rest. It’s not well advertised so keep an eye on the forum. It’ll be blasted everywhere. This is only on eBay though.

For tires it’s tough because it’s so personalized to your truck and your needs.

A less aggressive tire Id recommend is the cooper at3.

A bit more aggressive is the st maxx. An AMAZING all around tire but is a bit heavy due to the sidewall construction.

    good deal, thanks.

If he would give me cash, I was actually considering these (even though they're not AT). Get AT or something once these new ones wear out but I would still have the wheels. :D

A rag, punch and hammer, and pry bar is what you need. Two person job.

As the bolt comes out, you can use the pry bar against the body to push the bolt away from the body and the body away from it; both should flex. A rag should keep the paint safe. The second hand would need a hammer and probably punch to get the bolt through as the pry bar will make it hard to push with just your hands.

Did it on a few trucks with minimal damage.

    Nice. Sent a join request.

Can anybody recommend an alignment specialist? Or a good job that can help me with alignment?

Long story short, I bought this thing less than a month ago and it was pulling to the left. Dealership has been trying to align it. After new set of tires and 5 alignments, it now pulls to the right and steering wheel still off center.

Sales manager has been trying to help get it fixed. He mentioned DSI? Haven’t heard of them but he said they might be able to take a look and fix the alignment.

Generally if you set the alignment straight, it will pull to the left on slopped roads. Some shops set the alignment biased to the right but then it pulls right on flat roads. However, flat roads are not very common; most roads are slopped for drainage.

I tried it in multiple lanes. The wheel is off center. When I take my hands off the wheel centers itself clockwise and the truck goes right.
