did you fly all the way out to find that out?

got here around 1pm. LONG drive over from the other side of the country but back with the Mrs. again so that is worth it. Just need all of our crap (household goods being delivered tomorrow morning) and our dog and we will be set. get the dog back Thursday evening since we have boarding paid through then and we can unpack a lot without her being underfoot.

One thing I've noticed in my several hours here, pedestrians just DGAF. nearly hit two jay-walking in the dark, they were only 50ft from a damn crosswalk too haha

Oh my god, you're not kidding. Wavy10 reports on a fatal hit pedestrian like once a week, I swear.

Hi all, I am originally a Californian but now stationed in Virginia so I just wanted to say hi.

I am currently living in and TAD at VA Beach. Ultimate orders will be in Suffolk early next year. I never owned a truck but decided to buy a 2020 OR because I hear how rough the snow can get here at times. Will be looking for parts once the truck comes in. If anyone has a pair of OEM 2020 SR5 tail lights or tonneau cover I may be intersted.

Its not that the snow is bad
    1. Vdot doesn't take care of the roads
    2. Everyone is driving around thinking they know how to drive in snow

But congrats on the new truck

What part of Cali? I'm from San Diego (Chula Vista area) and got lucky to get my first duty station there. It is definitely different out here. Food, weather, culture, vibes, etc.

    Thank you

I will definitely be careful driving around coming from a place where it never snowed

Why not? A day does not go by without me thinking about San Diego. But that may be because I am spoiled with good weather and legit mexican food. Us San Diegans are just in our own world sometimes.

I just feel like I can get just as good weather, geography, stuff to do, in neighboring states without any of the typical CA bs.

Enjoyed my time in Reno for same situation. But the exodus from the other side of the mountain started changing things. Was a good 3 years out there but it was time to move on.

If VDOT doesn’t take care of the roads.... I happen to own a 4wd dually... is there money to be made by buying a plow? :spy:

My man. My wife went to the defense school in Cali and fuck... that state is beautiful. 50 in the morning and 70 in the evening every dang day. The water and mountains... everything is so awesome there if you just ignore the bums.

Sorry what i meant is that dont do a good job on the roads. And most cities dont bother with neighborhood streets
I do know that parking lots and things like that are cleared by private contractors

Predator steps, TRD cat-back, lots of orange stickers.
Sounds pretty cha-ching to me. Make sure you have an orange strobe. They loooove their orange strobes here for some reason. Even the school buses drive around with strobes on at all times.

Yes. Been here less than 6 months and while I'm busy exploring every weekend, there's a lot of typical CA bs. Tahoe looks nice...

Way more than just bums running around here causing havoc

You forgot to mention the drivers. Not sure about Socal but they're awful up here in the Bay Area. No one gives a fuck about anything. I was driving the 4Runner not too long ago and watched some woman get in to the merging lane to cut some traffic and she tried to get in in front of me. I saw what she did and wasn't going to let her in so she merged straight into me like it was nothing - she just kept on going. I have a little bit of white Civic paint on my front bumper and she has a nice dent from her rear door to tail light. I couldn't believe it.
