Hey man, just got stationed here too. I work in Suffolk , but we got a a great apartment at Cambria at cornerstone in VA beach next to town center. A bit pricier, but they're military friendly and dog friendly. We looked at a ton of different places around Hampton roads, but settled here because of the neighborhood. I feel better leaving my wife and baby by themselves here when I deploy. Everything we need is within a mile. And the drive to Suffolk for me is right under 30 min. (Coming from San Diego, that drive isn't bad). Can't speak to the travel time to Norfolk if that's where you're stationed though

Also,M buddy has been a cop in Norfolk for 3 years and recommended this area, along with Chesapeake and Suffolk. But to try to avoid Norfolk for obvious reasons.

You’re into bikes, yeah? Do your own work on them?

IIRC, I remember seeing you post about bikes on one of the bike threads on here

Took a ferry out to cape lookout national sea shore this weekend with 3 other trucks. Cooked a whole feast on the beach. Couldn’t be happier with how the weather cooperated.

We were at the very very end of the driveable beach. Where all the fisherman like to fish, by the rocks

@weldertaco was looking for some work. His name suggests he welds. Be a nice mutually beneficial arrangement.

Maybe @EatSleepTacos can do it, but I hear his payment options are questionable in nature.
