Hope all is well, looks like the path is coming just east southeast of me, should be an interesting next few hours re: rainfall already over 2 inches, and as the winds pick up.

    Hope everyone is staying safe!

Other than a lot of wind, nothing too crazy. Woke up to some power surges causing something outside to buzz REALLY loud and some flashes around 2-3am. Wind woke me around 6. Dog ass tired today and have to work a 12hr shift in a few hours. Worse it did to me was blow away my gutter downspout thingys but they're probably in my yard somewhere.

Lost power at 08:15hrs and got the generator up and running...daycare and my work were cancelled, the wife is semiworking from home, since we need our cell signal booster to get hotspot capable signal up this way...

Likely just a few trees that came down from the amount of rain that came down, we got 2.88 inches on our property and my in-laws up in Richmond got 3.53...they had some flooding in their in ground level of their house this morning around 04:30hrs.

My VB neighborhood survived without a lot of significant damage. One of my neighbors had a huge tree limb fall on their house, but it doesn't look like it penetrated the roof. I picked up enough small limbs to fill two large garbage bags, but otherwise my house survived. Headed out shortly to walk the neighborhood, so I'll see if anyone needs assistance.

had the same issue with the sticks/limbs. trash day tomorrow so tossed it all in. neighbor had one come down on his chain link fence and helped him tug it off enough to start cutting it up.

I stand corrected. I just saw a huge tree had sliced through a house in the storm. Wouldn't be surprised if the house is "totaled."

Saw another large tree down, but don't think it did any substantial damage to the next door neighbor's house.

Haven't heard any mention of people being hurt in Virginia Beach, so "fingers crossed." This wasn't a "wet" storm, but it did have a lot of wind and spun off a lot of tornados. With that in mind, that was strictly from the gusting winds, NOT a tornado.

I don't believe any tornadoes touched down in VB and I haven't hear of anyone injured. The cyclone formation (or whatever) passed over our neighborhood at 04:30. It was a tense half-hour as it moved through.

We lost a section of privacy fence, and were without power for 55 hours or so. Miserable.

I swear that storm that just rolled through was the actual hurricane because my god, we got so much rain here in Chesapeake. I bet Norfolk is flooded to all hell.

didn’t seem too bad in my neighborhood. Was a lot of rain though. The one earlier in the afternoon unleashed some good thunder and lightning, one of the transformers blew and smoked behind my house. Scared the crap out of the dog.

I was working in the garage and there were a few almost instantaneous lighting/thunder cracks. Surprised the crap outta me. Gutters flooded so much it was knocking over peoples trash cans.
