East coast gear supply. Either make the 3 hour trek there or have them mail you complete diff assemblies to swap in yourself. Then mail yours back as a core. I would bet half of all tacomaworld had their truck regeared by them.

What kind of camping is available down here/ what's good? I'm planning on trying out the state parks but camping seems harder to find down here

Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge doesn't let you park overnight, so you have to park in the Virginia Beach parking lot just outside the gate. Make sure leave a copy of your reservation on your dash so they won't tow your vehicle.

There are "upper" and "lower" camp sites, with groups of sites on the ocean side, and the bay side. The upper have potable water, where campers in the lower have to hike back to the upper area to get water. If you book a ocean side campsite, you can actually camp on the beach. There are latrines at each group of campsites, so you don't have to poop in the woods...lol No open fires, so you have to take a stove. You also have to haul out your garbage.

My hiking group camps there every year. We always camp on the "upper" sites on the ocean side.

If you want to hang out on a really pristine beach with no buildings, and very few people, this is your place. You may see cottonmouth snakes on the road on your walk in or out, so give them a wide berth.

So.....my daughter’s truck has 250k miles and while the motor is strong the transmission is slowly starting to slip.....looking for a reputable shop that either sells or reworks transmissions. I do everything but transmissions so I want only the best....any help or info is greatly appreciated. It is a 1999 3.4 V6 Tacoma, most likely a A340F transmission.

It’s crazy how much business just a solid reputation and word of mouth can get you. Little ole website like this can make people on the other side of the states order from them just because of the recommendations.

 

Yeah it’s wild. They really do have an amazing rep. Honestly I can’t recommend them enough.

 

The good thing about those snakes are that they really aren't aggressive, unless you decide to get really close to them. Just give them a wide berth, and they leave you alone. I've never heard of them in the campsites, and only seen them on the road.

If you have a mountain bike, recommend riding down to False Cape State Park before camping there. (Take water) Feel free to stop in to the FC State Park Ranger station if you have questions. They also have food, drinks, ice cream (my favorite...lol), souvenirs, etc. for sale. (There isn't much at the Back Bay office.)

Everyone who works at Back Bay or False Cape is really friendly. They love having visitors.

Labor Day weekend got me... I've ordered a Magnuson Supercharger, AFE Catted Downpipes, AFE Catted Y Pipe, and 5 285/70r17 Ridge Grapplers. The instant dopamine feels great but it is a little nerve racking ordering so many things that don't have much information out on them.

 

Sounds like an expensive weekend.
