Not sure who's into night riding but we have a group that rides MTRP every Tuesday night. Meet at the dirt lot on the Santee side with a 6:30 departure time. We also do a Thursday night ride that's more challenging/longer depending on what people are up for. BTW, almost everyone has a Taco, Jeep, or other 4x4 that we take out and thrash on the weekends.

Albert, so is the SAT 1/11 ride on for 9AM or 1PM? Based on reading some comments, I'm a little confused. I plan on riding this SAT with my buddy (who was supposed to join last time at Sweetwater), but now we're just deciding time and location.

I believe the event at MTRP starts at 9AM. I can't make that ride because I'm still at work. So the main ride for the month is this event. I certainly don't want to remove it just because I can't go.

In return, I am going to ride Mission Trails that same day but I think closer to 1:30 starting from the Clairemont Mesa side. So essentially there are two rides at the same place (but different meeting locations) and at two different times.

^ That was an impressive crowd of bikers.

Yeah, I decided to still go. To my knowledge no one else went. I got there about 1:45PM and started to ride by 2PM. Surprisingly there were still a good number of people out on the trails. I was in and out though. I rode well even though I was by myself.

I'll take suggestions for the next ride next month. Thoughts?

I assume you're alright? Not enough light out there at night? Come on Grant, be careful. At least tell me you weren't alone... right?

Ya I was taking my friend on his first night ride since he just got lights. Was only riding with one light dimmed which probably didn't help too much. I'm fine solely because of the helmet.

I know. I'll get it up later tonight.

That looked like a great trail. Did you have to caravan back up like Noble?

I'm in San Diego and would like to get into MTB. What's the ideal bike for riding the local San Diego trails?

Those trails in the video we shuttled similar to Noble but there are a ton of cross country trails that you can loop, we where probably the only DH people there that day.

Depends on what kind of riding you want to do. If you want a bike that can do 90% of the trails in SD I would get a 5-6" full suspension bike. The majority of trails in SD are Cross Country.
