Hey guys my tacoma and I are in a bit of a mid life crisis. Just recently I went to pull out of my garage and my passenger lower ball joint bolts snapped and left my truck in a reverse snoop dogg lean... I jacked it up and babied it back into the garage and began tearing the front end down. Now this isn't the first time it's happened, 2 years ago it did the same thing but in a dirt parking lot. When I took the LBJ,knuckle, rotor, axle assembly to my mechanic to drill out the bolts he said that the shop who fixed it last time only had 2 bolts holding it together  one was missing and one they snapped and didn't bother with properly fixing it.

So I'm left with a couple of options

    Option 1
I can basically rebuild my front end, continue to snap ball joints, cv axles, and so on.

    Option 2
I was thinking the fabtech 4" drop bracket kit would align my cv axles better and be less stress on the suspension. My camburgs probably don't work so I would sell them.

    Option 3.......
TG SAS C, since I got my tacoma I've been researching and dreaming about swapping but I was younger, cash was tighter, I walked to school up hill both ways, I settled for my camburgs. Now that my truck has been paid off and I have extra $$, 2 friends with sas tacos, tools, garage, and the know how. My dream is finally possible.

I know im all over the place with each option being completely different. I just was looking for some opinions. Am I going to keep breaking parts with my camburgs setup? Is the fabtech as good as I think it might be? Will I have the same issues with the fabtech? I daily drive my Tacoma more then my car because I like it more but is that going to change after I swap it? I'd like to think ill like it more :D

    The bad

Yeah, I have a garage to store it and a second vehicle to drive while im doing the labor. I've seen the builds and know what is involved.

The ball joints are equivalent to oem.

I don't believe there is such a thing as equivalent to oem. I'd buy oem toyota ball joints and replace them. If you'd like to trade coilovers, I have toytech with 15k on them. Let me take the risk.

Side note, did you happen to hang out on the Subaru forums? Your sn seems familiar.

Nope that's not me, I'll keep that in mind when I decide what I'm going to do. Do you have your toytecs maxed out? Any upgrades to the front end?

Nope not maxed out. They look dirty but the truck has been covered in fluid film. 650 eibach springs. Currently no other front end mods. No noises from them. I'm at about 2.5" of lift

Haha have you ever been on zilvia.net? I was in 00-02.

If you have the second vehicle I would do the SAS. Don't lie to yourself about being able to afford it if you can't. I don't want to send you into debt with my suggestion lol.

If its within your means and your motor and tranny are strong do it!

Haha no, but I do love Silvia's!! Well I had extra money until I went to the gun show yesterday and got trigger happy. So today I got a qoute on all new bushings, bearings, tie rod ends, steering rack, power steering pump, belts, and some more things for a tune up. I'm still interested in the pro comp 4" Db kit, anyone know what length the shocks are? Or if there's any custom drop brackets for just a 3" lift haha I know it's probably a no but still worth a shot!
