******Camburg UB install question ----- in middle of install******

I'm going to install my uca's this week and was wondering if I have to grease using the zerk fittings on initial install, or is lubimg the inside of the fitting adequate initially?

 

You should grease them. it won’t be bad if u don’t have the gun but grease everything before install.

 

Thanks man. I have the grease gun already, just wanted to make sure I'm not over greasing since I'm greasing them before I install them.

 

Follow the Total Chaos UCA instructions (it's under their vendor sub heading). Make sure the main cross shaft is loose when you pump in the grease, and then torque it when you are done. This will keep from destroying the bushings.

 

Thanks! Those are the videos I was looking at for install/maintenance. Going to tackle this project tomorrow.

 

It doesn’t matter either way. I would grease them “manually” when installing them.

 

They have a great install / coilover install vid on youtube... 14 minutes per side... tackling mine this weekend... budgeting 2 hours LOL

 

that's what I've seen in all the install videos I've seen. Greasing the inside of the bushings upon assembling the UCA. Thanks for the confirmation.

 

Make sure you grease the outside face of the bushing too.

 

Good luck! I was going off the TC install vid since they're the most similar to my Camburgs I just purchased. Hoping all goes smooth. Installing tomorrow, new tires come in Wednesday, mount tires and alignment Thursday Morning.

 

Are you sure? In the TC install vid they say not to do this as we don't want movement of the bushing.

Ok, so on initial assembly of the uca, but upon installing on vehicle before running the rod back through. I think I got it lol

When the arm is installed and you grease it, some will seep out the sides and hit that area. Didn’t want them going in bone dry.

 

Got it. I think you've pretty much cleared up any confusion I had. Ill grease those areas and I'll skip out on using the zerk fittings to grease initially, and just leave that for the routine maintenance.
