Sure. I made brackets that attach through the front-most and rear-most bed bolts. That way it's tied directly to the frame of the truck. The tubular chassis itself is 1-3/4" DOM steel, same as you'd build a typical roll cage out of. Polyurethane bushings allow it a tiny bit of flex.

Old pics here but clearly show the mounts.

In full ready-to-shoot trim (camera payload, counterweights, hydraulics, etc.), anywhere between 300-500lbs.

The revamped electro-hydraulic system is working great. I also made a handful of other modifications and then powder coated everything. The crane truck can be considered 'done' for now (although everyone knows how that goes :D).

Begone virus! I want to take this out on some shoots.

That looks looks really well designed and built. The dumb bell set up for counter balance is a nice touch - simple and easily adjusted. Nice work!

Cool rig! Does this take a crew of 3 to operate? Driver, boom operator, camera operator?

Yes sir, it's exactly as you guessed. Minimum crew of 3 - driver, crane op, and gimbal op.

    That's outstanding!
Are those tires stock size or 265s?
What camera are you using? Red?
Oh yeah, how fast were you going and how many Gs can you do on the corners? :)

Sure, here's a little montage from the day:

Tires are stock size which is 265.

Shooting on the Panasonic GH5S. Didn't want an expensive camera and lens package on there in case I crashed it!
