I've decided, fuck it.. Going with 3.5. If I am going to do it might as well go full blown. Will keep updated. Might not be a while until I get the kit, other parts will be arriving though.

 

Good choice - with a bed cage it would be kind of strange to get anything less than that.

 

Yeah I went back and fourth between 2 and 3.5 but you know, I wouldn't have been fully happy with 2.. Besides I want flared fenders and bedsides and a bed cage

 

I would do a lot more research before purchasing stuff.

Anthony has a point - I spent almost two years on this site getting familiar with everything that goes along with the mods for long travel - even still there's a lot I'll have to learn. Not saying it would take you that long, just a testimonial lol.

 

Yeah for sure. I pick up on things pretty quickly, been around motorized shit my whole life. But man! this is a whole new game, and i sure do like it.

 

3.5 is like normal long travel....it's not "full blown" that's like a 6+ kit or a trac and solo kit that use 10" coilovers

Does the person doing the install know how to properly set up rear long travel ?

 

My Dad and I will be doing the install of the rear long travel. I am currently looking at the DMZ Spring under conversion kit as well as some 16in Kings. As I said I am still learning, so I am trying to find someone who has built a bed cage design that I like..

 

A question for anyone on here; The frame boxing, is it for reinforcement? Who here has done it? Who sells the best kit?

It's so your frame doesn't twist / bend. Usually some extra crossbracing is added in the rear if you're going to have the bed off and are plating the frame.

They were on sale in a group buy for $100 delivered recently - don't think you could make some for much less if you consider how much time it will take away from other things as well.

 

This thread is pretty question heavy... Now will a 4in bulge front fender worth with the +3.5?

 

Yeah that's the standard one to go with.
