Don't mean to be a downer but...
I just did a large portion of my hood. IMPOSSIBLE TO SPRAY EVENLY out of the can. If you do your body panels you'll probably not be happy with the outcome. Plus I can't see this being a very permanent application. It will probably peel off in spots.

Good luck with it...I'd like to see it!

Kind of had the same thoughts. I looked at the pic before I read and I was thinking "Where's the dip?"

Then again, they're all pics that look to be in the shade.

thats what i said. i had just seen it a few hours before i saw this post. funny one of my buddies at work is talking about doing his car too. peels right off.

www.dipyourcar.com they have videos showing them spraying a black m3 turning it matte white. pretty different and it is easy to remove, but not too easy to the point it peels on its own.

i'm thinking about doing it if i'm going to be on some trails just to protect a bit.

That's an interesting thought. Spray the side panels before you go wheeling to avoid light pinstriping from branches. It's not going to protect against something solid, but small branches should not be able to dig through it.

I live down the street from the dipyourcar.com guys. Just had my gf's rims painted on her jetta. Their really awesome to deal with, plasti-dip in the can is easy to use on small panels, grille, rims things like that. Now if your doing your body or bigger items they sell a kit for 350 I think, and that includes the paint and a Wagner paint sprayer. This is how it comes out so even. We bought this kit for my buddies gti and it came out awesome. I was just thinking about the Tan and OD green for my truck that's what I really want!

I did my bumper and it came out nice and smooth no spray lines or anything, now my tailgate is a different story it's way to big, so I finished all the coats and worked a corner off and just peeled the entire thing in one piece like a sticker. Great product.

I was thinking the same. The cost would be less to buy the cans but Id be leery of it not applying evenly. Dipyourcar.com used to sell a whole car kit for like $250 that came with the sprayer and a gallon of your color of choice.

looks like they have changed their site and product a little as they do not offer the "kit" any longer...... They also used to advertise that you could request your own plasti-dip color and they would order it for you... not any longer unfortunately.

They used to be out of his garage in coral springs and then he posted a video on YouTube and blew up, now he offers a lot more things and has his own shop. I'm not trying to promote or anything I'm just happy with the results on our cars

My bet is that this is a vinyl vehicle wrap, like these http://www.skinzwraps.com/ I just can't imagine somone would spend put 100 bucks worth of rattle can plastidip on a hundred thousand dollar car.

I have come across a DIY kit for the vinyl wraps I just can't seem to locate it right now.

It doesn't cost 100 dollars worth of cans to do it it'll turn out like shit, you have to use a paint sprayer. Or if dipyourcar.com does it it's, 1000 bucks

I like it. It's different... gets boring looking at the same colors/setups on these trucks all the time. Glad someone took the chance to do something new.

I like it. I would probably prefer it on a green or tan truck. I'd do it on mine, but I plan on blacking out everything that isn't the spruce mica paint.
