    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Figured I would start this thread for those of us that are taking a run up to the area affected by the Camp Fire.

A bunch of us have been working out a run to take donations and other items to the victims of the Camp Fire in Paradise CA and surrounding area.

Looks like we will be grouping up in South Natomas at 9:00 on Saturday 11/17/18. Some of us are coming from the Bay Area and Mid Central Valley. From the sound of the discussion we should have a very substantial amount of items to help these people.

    Meet up:
    https://goo.gl/maps/gY8XW1QWLBK2
3661 Truxel Rd, Sacramento, CA 95834

Here's an idea of where we are coming from and where we're headed.

I wanted to post this thread to help coordinate, provide the info for others who may be interested, and a thread to post pics of the adventure.

Those who are "in" are follows:

    @Sharkfrog

If I missed anyone or if you want to join us let me know. I'll add you to the list.

What is needed? I was going to make a run tomorrow but read reports where they had too many donations of goods and only wanted gift cards etc.

I’ve been donating to gofundme accounts of extended family and friends.

I’m down to help if hauling goods is still needed.

Screenshot_20181115-060016_Chrome.jpg this is a list we're working off of. But add feminine hygiene products and undergarments. Gift cards like Visa work for tons of things these folks need also. Oh and the humane society is hurting for food and supplies up in chico.

From what I understand, they mostly need money, over whelmed with donations. $$$ works. People can buy, eat what they want.
By the way, one good thing came of the fire, flushed out a murderer of two people from Plumas County from a few years back. Shot dead by LE.

Money, checks can be sent to Paradise Rotary Foundation. Do your own lookup for Paradise Rotary, I have a tablet and it won't paste.

Exactly why I canceled my run up today and instead am donating.

I have a couple friends/family members who lost homes so a separate run will be done later for just them. One is about to have his first kid and lost everything including all the baby shower gifts from a week before. I have a crib, high chair, stroller and more I will bring up to him once he has locked in a rental house.

We are still going up to Oroville. We'll have about 6 trucks filled with new, and used, items. My friend at the Church of Nazarene, in Oroville, told me today that he knows of several places taking donations. This is a long term mission. He informs that there are still people hurting from a fire two years ago, who lost everything.

My wife's ex-husband is running one of the donation centers in Gridley. He says he has a lot of stuff, but he's a long term distribution center. He has room for more.

You start hearing the stories that the donation centers are full from "charities" like the Red Cross and the like.... because they can't pay their salaries with donations of goods, they want your money.
