    Hey all,
Im looking to build out my 2017 access cab with a bed rack, RTT, and leave room to have surfboards on top. My main problem is that my boards need to clear the top of the cab and be secured. I don't want them hanging out of the bed. I was thinking of getting a bed rack that's cab height, adding spacers for the tent, and sliding the boards underneath the tent, on top of the rack?

Looking for any suggestions, products recommendations, and or prior experience when trying to combine all these elements.

    Thanks ya'll!

    How long are the boards?

I've never seen anything that would space the RTT up that high but you could always make something.

Another option could be to side mount the boards on the rack sides. There may already be something that exists or could be adapted easily to one of the more modular bed racks.

Or put them on the sides of the RTT with a bed rack mount option like this? https://www.rackwarehouse.com/front-runner-rrac095-vertical-surfboard-carrier.html

If you're able to keep the RTT level with the cab roof or close to level it makes a significant difference on MPG if that's of any concern.

All pro makes mid height bed bars and modular braces that you can add as needed for mounting and bracing as desired.

    You're going to want a 22" tall rack: https://www.max-modular.com/toyota-...sent-11/max-modular-22-high-aluminum-bed-rack

Thanks! Looks like you guys have some awesome racks!

Wondering if you do any custom work, or may have some suggestions? After more thinking, I'd like to be able to keep the tent below the cab in the back to help with mpgs. But, on one side of the bed have the boards above the tent, and on their own separate utility type rack above the cab. Sort of a split level bed rack or an attachment to a bed rack, if that makes sense? Almost a surfboard width utility rack added to one side on top of the bed rack that would clear the cab.

We kind of already have that.

We have a sliding cargo tray that acts as a second level: https://www.max-modular.com/storage-options-1/sliding-cargo-tray
