I like having the boot myself. I used to go without the rear cab window, just the boot. Kids, dogs, me, wife, one big happy dirty stinky family climbing back and forth from the shell to the cab.

The rear cab window is easy to pop in and out, takes about 10 minutes. Press it out from the inside, get your fingers in one corner, get the inner rubberstrip moved to the groove in the cab, then move the window on out with some soapy water or whatever lubrication. To put it back in, you loop some nylon cord around the rubberstrip groove, loop it at the top, use soapy water again or whatever lubricant, get one corner in from the outside, then press the cab window pulling the nylon cord from the loop at the top and the loose ends at the bottom to get the inside seal in. It's as easy as taking your hand out of a bucket of water.

The boot will leak a little bit, but not a big deal. There won't be torrents of water.

If it rubs through the paint, too bad for you next owner, you won't be getting a discount. Either keep the shell on or STFU. I can find someone that will be happy to be the next owner of a slightly rubbed Tacoma.

My ideal shell was the cx with win doors. Folding front glass and a roof rack. Either in black or swb.

I have a MGM ARE shell for sale right now. Just saw this thread and figured I would let y'all know. It was originally $2500 new and it's 3 years old now. I have a thread started with pics if anyone is interested.

What tires do you have Gabassman? I have about 43k on my terra grapplers right now so I've started looking around a little bit.

It would be awesome if the Tacoma's came available with a rear roll down window like the Tundras. Then you could just buy a canopy with a fold down front window and easily climb between the two.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
Wel some people could easily climb between the two. Some of us might want to reconsider the wisdom in trying that :)

Can you send a link to the compression boot you used? I’m in a similar situation and want to find what works
