Nice job, sport. Looks like you put together a great system for yourself. Enjoyed the read.

After camping in the Tacoma a few times I decided to make a few mods on the storage box.
In the original build I used 2" strips of 3/4" plywood.

I felt it was a little flimsy and also needed a little more room.
I rebuilt it using 1×4 pine lumber and also made it taller with an additional shelf.

The top shelf just sits in place and rest on the camper shell flange. It also overlaps the edge of the top 1×4

I also built a storage area in my barn to hold all of the components when I need to use my truck bed.
The top shelf holds all of the flat parts
The bottom shelf holds all of the totes
The bunk and storage box just stand on the ends. I added a safety chain to make sure one of the grandkids don't tip something over.

I'm hoping for another moto hauling and camping trip in the next week or so.

    Great write-up Kywoodsrider!
I have a Gen 2 with a less organized bed set-up for riding around NC. Looks like you also have slider vents on each side of your cap...I love my side vents for cross ventilation in the warmer weather. I'm about to weld up a bike rack for my receiver hitch here soon
    Keep up the good work

Love the set up on the resurrected thread.

I recently got a mx hauler that has worked out great.
