    Is there a curtain way to tighten them? I noticed a plastic cylinder piece around one side and not the other.

    Adjusting them really depends on what kind of latch/latches they are.

    It seems more like the latch. I can manually move it and make some noise

    Move the striker bars in. There should be some adjustment slots just inside
