    2001 Tacoma Regular Cab
Hey Tacoma People! New here and I had a question I couldn't find the answer for. Sorry if this has been asked before.

I have a 2001 Regular Cab Tacoma and I'm looking at a camper shell on craigslist that is listed as a LEER shell coming off a 1999. I know that the length is correct at 6' 6". My concern is that the owner listed it as 4' 9" wide. That seems to only be the width on the interior edge of my truck bed. Wanted to ask if the width of a 1999 is the same as a 2001?

    Thanks!

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
Yes, beds are same. Regular cab to reg cab is good.

Even though the bed length is the same unless he has a regular cab the shell won't fit if he has an extra cab. The front of the shell fits the contour of the rear of the cab which is more sloped on an extra cab and will make the shell too long for your truck. If he's got a regular cab as well then you're all set.

Yes verify that before you buy anything. Ask him if it was a "perfect" fit to his regular cab as a regular cab will fit on an extended cab but will not follow the contour of the cab.

If it fits a 2001 correctly, it'll fit yours. Beds are the same. But make sure it is for a Tacoma. If it doesn't fit his right, it won't fit yours.
