Upgraded stock wheels, added a bunch of LEDs, control panel.
I’ve got a pretty beat up ARE camper top for my 3rd gen tacoma, got it professionally installed.
The entire thing sometimes shakes when I’m driving on the highway 60+ mph. The camper shell also has a built-in toolbox on the side, which makes a very loud metal rattling noise while I’m driving.
The camper top also has no carpet insulation, do y’all recommend installing carpet insulation DIY or getting it done professionally?
I’m wondering if anyone else has these same issues and how they fixed them.

    Metal shell?
Probably when there's some added weight on the shelf(s), the noise will subside.

Yeah, the carpet lining will also help with the insulation of sound and cold weather.

Well, you said "beat up" there may be some structural defects in the shell that are not apparent to the naked eye. I have had an ARE shell for about 3 years now with none of the issues you describe. I did buy it new, and the dealer installed it but to date, it has been great. The carpet would likely act as a noise reducer and would probably be "easy" to self-install but I've never done it so hopefully someone who has will chime in. Good luck with the issues regardless.
