Shell is not sitting flush with tailgate. Do I need to replace the tailgate cap, if so can you tell me where I can purchase. Do I need to replace it with something more flat or something that covers the tailgate cap or replace the seam in the inside? I just want it to sit flush. IMG_4051.HEIC.jpg

Loosen the clamps holding the cap on and slide it back 1/2" or so until everything lines up. Whoever installed it got it too far forward.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Pictures are only closeups and I'm only guessing here, because I can't see the whole door, but is that cap from a 2nd gen? Tailgates are different between 2nd and 3rd gens, and that door looks like it fits a 2nd gen. The reason I wonder, is because the cap isn't the same color as the truck.

It could be just as easy as this though.
