ok, so I’m wanting a camper top to go on my 2016 Tacoma but was wandering with the bed design if they stay secure while off roading.......I’m not a rock crawler but if I want to go into rough country I will......although very carefully

Pics from Uwharrie, I've never had any problems with my shell moving around but it's a good idea to go over everything after a trip to the woods.

Get a cap, topper, camper shell from a reputable dealer. Do some research on TW, lots of threads on this topic. I always check the bolts on mine at oil changes,5000 miles. If I run off road I will check again. It’s a maintenance thing, no biggy.
