My pup rides in the back seat in her kennel for now til she’s 100% house broken. I’ll clip her into a seatbelt with a seat cover on the back seat once she’s ready to graduate from the kennel.

I’ve got a silver truck and white cap, and I’ve thought about building a setup like you have. (Sweet truck and setup and pupper, by the way!) I’m a “doggy goes where I goes” kinda guy, so she’s on the couch, in the cab, etc. She’s learning well, but we have a ways to go.

    Dimples don’t bother me much.

We camp in the bed quite a bit all seasons so we just keep reflectix over the back cap window year round. That along with blackout curtains along the side windows keep the inside pretty cool for the pup even in the summer months.

ARE Z-series shell, ImMrYo mirror lift, always on fog-lights.
I know a lot of working dog guys have 12v fans hooked up to the windows and use them to keep air moving through back there depending on where your pup likes to hang out as to how I would set them up, but if he spends most of his time on the bed I would just have 1 fan blowing in and the other side blowing out to keep air moving across the bed.

Insulate the roof of the shell and then seal around the sliding window with something like pipe insulation or a pool noodle. Might not hurt to have a fan you can hang in the opening as well to move air quick if you arent on the road. Now you can AC the bed easy enough. If you wanted to get crazy you could run some ducting from the front to the bed.

Don't leave your dog in the camper shell if it's getting that hot inside. That's a shithead move.
