I'm about to purchase one of these to use with my Leer 180. It looks like all the pictures here are of the mid-size. Does anyone have the full-size and have some pictures or any other info to add before I decide?

Their site recommends a full size but everyone here seems to have midsize. Hoping to see a picture of the full size tent on a Tacoma so I can see if it's too baggy... There must be a reason everyone opted to go against the manufacturer reccomendations.

2012tacolover: to clarify, you have the full size tent on your Taco? Fits well?

it would be to wide, the mid size fits perfect. No wind or rain has gotten in this and the bigger size my flap around. you try a Google search for truck tents, might find more info. I have no regrets in getting this.

Awesome setups. I didn't realize these tents were a thing.

Thanks DoorDing, these pictures were very helpful. I don't think I saw them on the thread you made about the platform so thanks for sharing from your build thread.

I'm still not completely decided but I think I am leaning toward the mid size as that does look a little baggy. The only concern I have is with my larger glass door on the Leer 180 which would extend the tent out a little further than others with the cab height caps.

Nice setup, it's nice to see the full size works on these trucks, I can see how the extra room can help! :D

Got the full size DAC in today. Decided to go that route due to the larger Leer 180 and because that is what the website recommended.

The full size is much too wide for our trucks and I could not get it fitted properly on the truck. I'm returning the full size and ordering a mid size.

I just found this system online. It's expensive at $1300 for the lift and $1300 for the camping package, but it is an awesome setup.

For those of you who have this tent...I was thinking about purchasing it but I would need to modify it to work around my roof rack. I'm thinking I would have to either shorten the top part significantly (so it only goes about 1 foot over the top of my camper past the open rear window and doesn't interfere with the roof rack) or I would have to cut slits into the top of it and have it professionally sewn and devise a different method for still keeping it tight to the top of the camper.

Anyways...I messaged the manufacturer and they weren't really helpful they just said "this tent would be really hard to modify and I wouldn't suggest trying." I find that hard to believe as I think it would be really easy for a seamstress to modify to my needed specifications. I'm curious to those of you who have it...what material is the top part made out of and do you think I could get by with either of those modifications?

There aren't really any other options out there...the only other option would be to buy material and have someone make one to work specifically for my truck, which I'm sure would be much more expensive. Thanks in advance! (Included pic of truck so you can get the idea of what I'm thinking)

Possibly...but that would scrunch the sides of the tent and could affect how it fits against the side of the camper shell and truck.

Just saw this on a review and reviewer said it still kept out rain and wind. It may look a little scrunched but it appears to work. So I'll probably get it and not mess with it unless it starts to bother my OCD-tendencies haha

I'm using the DAC camper shell tent that is intended for a full-sized truck due to my mid-rise camper shell.

Just bought one from Tentsontrucks.com in Vegas. They were awesome and sent it immediately, so I got it in time to go camping last weekend. I got the mid-size for my 2007 with a leer shell, it fit like a glove.
