Bringing back an old thread, any of you happen to be selling one of these? Really like the practicality of them!

Hi all! I'm new to the site and would love some input from you guys :) This thread is full of awesome ideas! I have a 2014 short bed and want to modify it for cross country camping. I have a high top shell and not sure if my truck would need the mid or full size due to the extra height. Thanks in advance!

Hi @sarahthehoff! I'd say likely the larger one...but just to be sure, what is the height from the back window to the tailgate when fully open?

Actually, I take that back...it's mainly based on the width of the tailgate. The larger one would likely be a little baggy side-to-side. Unfortunately, the smaller one will not fit perfectly but it'll still work (see the image earlier in the thread of the white tacoma with the black hi-top camper - that's the medium size).

I had one for years and loved it. I bought it from Campmor.
Softopper apparently makes poles that work to keep the tent in proper shape. They sell the tents on their website.

Not much on mods - Leer 180, TRD wheels, Mobtown sliders, rear hitch, helper springs on the rear
I have the full-sized DAC tent for my Leer 180. The fit is definitely a little baggy - but I have a tad more head room at the entry way.

    These are absolutely awesome ideas.

Just built a sleeping platform in mine and was looking for a solution. Me wife doesn’t want a bear dragging us out by the feet.

I built an extension box to attach to the bed section that sits on the tailgate.

This is exactly what I was looking for.

Can someone please post a picture of a leer 180 shell with a med-sized DAC tent, how much height is lost when the back window is opened?
I'm torn between the full size (baggy on the truck, but more head room) or the med size (fits perfectly on the truck, but might stretch and not be able to fully open the back window) Thanks!

Can anyone please post a picture of of a leer 180 shell with a med size DAC tent on? Or please message me. I want to order one but don't know if I will be loosing head room and stretch the fabric if I go with the med. one vs the full size.

    Thanks!

hey guys im currently looking at a napier tent for my truck. i cant seem to find an answer and was wondering if anyone had the answer to this. will the napiers that work with a regular truck bed work with a truck with a camper like the dac tent will? i dont want the the extra walk in area, im just looking to add another foot to my short bed so i can fit good.
