Didn't want to hijack another thread. So here is my question.
I currently do a lot of astrophotography (those cool pictures of the stars/milkyway) and i've been wanting to go during colder and colder months but not bring along an RV for warmth. So the question is does there exist a camper shell with a windowed roof? Say one made of plexi-glass? I'm not talking the entire roof but most, similar in concept to a panoramic sun roof. Basically I want to be able to lay inside the camper and stargaze from the comfort of the truck bed with a roof over my head.

TL;DR Is there a camper shell with a huge window on the roof that I can stargaze out of. (If confused look at included picture. Does that exist for a camper?)

Never soon a bed cap with that feature as an option...

I really like the idea though.

Power tools and being stubborn enough to settle for nothing less than exactly what you want, that's the ticket.

Just go topless and run a small heater off the outlet in the truck bed!

I had a Glasstite (now defunct canopy company) canopy on my '93 with a pop-up moonroof in it. I bought the canopy used so I don't know if it came from the factory that way but the moonroof itself came from CR Laurence (the largest wholesaler of glass shit in the country) and would likely be easy enough to retrofit into anything else. The glass came all the way out but could be kind of awkward to get back in from the inside.

You'll likely need to go custom. I want something similar, although I really just want a Fantastic Fan, but it doesn't seem to exist (probably for load bearing reasons).

Most topper makers aren't gonna put $ into something that will never sell. Also, large windows on the roof cause serious engineering difficulties.

I would have to say if you bring any cap to a place that installs moon roofs they'd be able to figure it out for you. One thing is for sure no matter what, it'll most likely leak. there are caps that have windows on the front elevation not quite flat and usually narrow but they are there. like this one
