This is what I was wondering.

I would be expensive because you couldn't get a cheap 3rd gen camper shell to experiment on. But you could probably get an aluminum shell and then go to an old junkyard and find some sliding windows for an RV or camper and install them. If one had the tools and a little know how (as well as some free weekend time) it probably could be done.
Then that person could master this skill and probably making a killing selling them on this site.

Think about it OP... think about it.

PS I get 10% for the idea if you do this.

This company will do it. Aluminum is lighter too.
You will need to have it covered on the inside and even then the overhead glass could get condensation.

Where'd you get this? Does it extend out to the end of the tailgate with it down?

This specific tent picture is a Camp right tent. Rightline makes similar floorless tents. I considered a floorless because you can set it up without moving the stuff in the bed and I can also access the power outlet. I think I'll go with one for a floor for now because I didn't want to deal with any drafts or openings, but the set up looks fine if you have a good sleeping bag or are camping when it's warm.

I came across this thread looking for the same idea. I found a concept that may work. There's a video of this guy installing a plexiglass window on a fiberglass boat. He did the cutout, gasket install. Looks legit. Might work for the roof of a fiberglass camper...

I feel like glass would have to be tempered and super heavy for an install like this. And the camper would need to be framed or steel or something to deal with the flexing, etc. I think the best bet would be like a removable fiberglass or plasic piece and a retractable screen or clear plastic window

I installed an aftermarket moon roof on my 2000 Leer 100XR camper shell. Worked out OK. I thought about doing the same thing for my new 2021 Leer 100XR shell. However, the design of the shell has changed. Now it has a thick "honeycomb" reinforcement over most of the roof. This precludes, or makes very difficult, the installation of the same type of moon roof.

Besides that, I ordered the factory Thule tracks with the shell, and I put on a Prinsu rack using those tracks. The extra weight up top makes me think that I want to keep as much structural rigidity as possible in the shell. Cutting a big hole for a moon roof would compromise the rigidity.

My experience with the moon roof on the 2000 was that it was seldom used. The most common use was in removing the glass panel so that tall objects could be carried in the truck bed. It wasn't needed for ventilation because the Leer 100XR has large sliding side windows with screens.

Hard top camper...many more to add+
What a nice idea...window on top of a camper...like a sunroof... I wonder if they can design it to let you stand up in it too...

I think the main issue with this idea is that the truck bed tends to flex (and in return, the topper also flex). I noticed this issue when I was part of the Ecoboost forums and members were complaining about their fiberglass toppers cracking during off-road use.
