Initially I thought the snow was only a few feet deep where we set camp up back in at Meiss Meadow, but looking later, dang, that's gotta be 8' maybe. Due to the wind, I didn't get pics or my set up or the kitchen area.

To expand on that...last time I tried a hammock.

At some point in the middle of the night, as I was regaining awareness from a deep sleep, I was confused by the fact I was standing up, on pine needles while wearing socks. It took me a few moments to realize I had fallen out of the hammock. Hip/Shoulder were sore for a couple days :lalala: And I don't

I've always been a fan of Kelty tents. Simple designs, good quality, moderate cost, easy set up/take down, widely available at most every store should you ever need replacement poles.

I use starbucks via. not bad. not as good as actual brewed coffee but it does the trick.

I got my parents one of these a few years back. I think they're going to wear the damn thing out! Gallons of coffee have been brewed in this...

Hammocks are the shiznit. I have a grand trunk with a fly & tarp combo. As well as a Kelty Salida 2 it;s really like a 1+ but it works.

That thing is probably the antithesis of my camping life, lol.
I'll use a percolator if I'm feeling fancy!
    Usually it's cowboy coffee.
Definitely no fancy-schmancy automatic propane-fired drip machine.

My little sisters boyfriend loves coffee. He has one of those for when we backpack. Works great. He has a portable grinder also for when we car camp.

    Hahaha! Yes!

Used to hang out on Tundra Geeks then migrated to T4R. Have since traded both those and now in a 16 Taco!

I have one but don't like the fact you can't turn it low enough to keep from boiling less than half a pot of coffee.

I just tried that via the other day. Actually impressed with it for instant coffee!

That coffee maker looks interesting though! I know a couple guys who would love one while hunting!

I'm more of a hot chocolate/cider guy when camping though. Or when backpacking I've been known to just do hot water

I know you said that you have the 2+, but I also remember you saying that you're like 6'6, right?

If so, do you think someone who is 6'1 would be comfortable in the 2? Or would need the 2+

I'd probably consider the 2+ for the extra room, but l am kind of accustomed to wanting to be extra comfortable.

It's a little snug for me, my woman and our 40 lb dog. By myself the tent is huge. At 6'7" I touch both ends of the tent slightly due to the wall design, so you may find it more roomy and more comfortable than the standard Half Dome.

    Meh...you're missing out
Grinder? Has he never seen City Slickers!?!
We use a carafe to keep it warm. Or just drink faster
I have a French press but most mornings it's below freezing and the water gets cold while brewing. Easier to just boil water and dump in the via. Mom and dad drink a ton of coffee so the pot works great, full 12 cups brewed in about 10 minutes
