    Had an awesome time camping for 3 days last week on the Kern River above Lake Isabella. Headed up there mid-week with no online reservation, found a open spot right near the river and it wasn't crowded. About a 3 hour trip to get there from LA, and well worth it! Fun trails to off road explore, fishing for trout, floating the river on tubes and a million stars. Cooked up a pouch of Pad Tai from REI and got good use out of my ENO hammock!

    Yeah, they're getting dumped on pretty bad back home. I heard the tunnel was closed, then the east entrance, then ALL of the roads into the park. Now a freaking house-sized boulder on the road. Crazy. Saw some footage of at least 18" of water on the streets in Springdale, too.
