That's way to big to be useful in my opinion. I'd consider a 5" blade the biggest I'd ever want to carry and even then most things can be done with a smaller folder just as well.

Giving a few of these new 6's away this year as gifts. Might even keep one for myself. Utilitarian and inexpensive.

I gave away my only ESEE (3). Disappointing blade for me, should have bought a 4 or 5.

Coming from a guy that used to carry a Beker Dive Tul around regularly, I believe it.

I also recently bought one of these, but I bought it while at Yosemite. That makes it cooler, right?

Did you mean underquit or are you referring to the same quilt seabass has? I was out a couple of weeks ago and forgot to sleeping pad in my truck so all I had was my sleeping bag for my hammock. My butt/back was freezing. Wondering how would the quilt be different from a mummy bag.

Underquilt is needed. And a top quilt replaces a sleeping bag. 70* is about the breakpoint from no insulation to needing a pad. 60* is the average break for going to UQ.

Just as this Tacoma forum is an obsession, hammocking is an obsession. Hammockforums.net

But I still use my sleeping bag. It's not the best best but can't afford quilts right now

Agreed. Also, good shoes/boots are very important. But that doesn't go into your pack.

A quilt will be one of my next purchases. For ground and eventual hammock use. I don't do mummy bags very well.
