Will second this. I purchased one to take on truck trips to power my Luminoodle and charge phones while sleeping. It is pretty light and can fit anywhere really. I usually just leave it in the bag that the luminoodle comes in.

second all of the above. I use a fold-out solar panel (which I leave in camp, or on the back of my pack) to charge 4 AA's, which then charge my phone and InReach at night. Use the phone for photos and GPS, InReach for connection with town/SAR when phone or radio won't reach.

Also agree with above on using kitchen scale to fine-tune clothing choices and food packing, I average around 1.25-1.5lbs/person per day and the scale keeps me from excesses.

Just picked up some new gear for an upcoming trip this weekend. Got a ESEE-4H for myself & a Mora Companion & Dueter Futura 30SL for the wife. Also picked up an 2.0L Evernew soft bottle and a Sawyer Squeeze. The plan is to make a DIY gravity setup.

I always seem to spend more than I anticipate when shopping at REI. Hopefully, they have some good Veterans Day and/or Thanksgiving Day sales.

I have one about 20 minutes away. I haven't been probably almost 2 months somehow.

I LOVE these stakes. So much that I bought another set for my hammock tarp. Truly awesome design, and I pounded on these and didn't come close to bending one. The rounded tops are a genius design, because if you accidentally step on one, it's so much less likely to punch through a sandal or shoe around camp.

Better yet, repackage your mountain house meals into vacuum sealed foodsaver bags to really compress them and save surprising space. Then just use a Sharpie to write the amount of water they require on the package. I also write the calories and # of servings on them, too.

Think they usually do their sales the week of and just close on Thursday and Friday.

That might work but I would have to buy a Food Saver system.

If you're gonna do that, skip the food saver, buy a dehydrator. Bypass the nasty MH foods altogether.
