I've done several 120mile, 6 day ski trips with Canon G12, G15...hundreds of shots, carried one spare battery for 10-12 days (return trip).

Regular alkaline batteries don't last at low temp. Lithium is needed then.
Proprietary batteries .. You have to use their battery and the ones from the store won't help.
(Edit: I mean that when your proprietary battery dies, you can't use another kind of battery, like they will have in a small store in the boonies.)

Just got back from REI. Bought a Therm-a-Rest EvoLite sleeping pad and The North Face Recon daypack. Daypack will also see duty as as a carry-on for future flights. Also picked up a Sea to Summit pillow and a couple of maps.

Stumbled upon this and pulled the trigger (Dark Cedar). $167 out the door with the 10% off code. Don't even really need another tent....but just because. I'm sure I'll put it to use this spring/summer on some truck camping fly-fishing adventures. I like the 61" interior height.

@Sig45 - I have that same tent - but only use it in the early Spring or late Fall down here in Texas. Its 61" height and 100" x 86" floor holds two 78" cots with nice passage way down the middle. If only Marmot had provided two more vents on the rain fly and added a rear door for more ventilation. It's definitely worth every penny of the $167 clearance price.

My go to tent during the warmer months is the discontinued Marmot Limelight 4 - It's slightly smaller than and not as robustly constructed, but it has two vestibules that open for better ventilation. The cots which are 15" above the floor don't quite fit in door to door orientation due to the sides of tent slanting inward more than Limestone 4P and you cannot sit up on the cot. The floor of the Limelight 4P is 93" x 82". Peak interior height is only 50". With the Limelight 4P, I usually only use air mattresses, without the cots.

Marmot tents are some of the easiest to set up. The Limelight takes only about 5 to 7 minutes with guy lines staked out. The Limestone 4P takes about 10 minutes, plus - (take care to center the two main poles in the sleeves, before erecting the tent).

Thanks for the info! Much cooler and less humid way up here in Maine, so I've generally not run into ventilation issues with any of my tents. I usually put away the camping gear during our "hot" summer months of July & August. It'll see a lot of use in May-June and Sept-Oct when it's much cooler.

Once you get past your 60th birthday, a taller tent sure seems nice. It means less crawling around your knees, plus there's the ability to have cot that's 15" off the ground.
