Anyone know where the cheapest place to get a sawyer squeeze water filter and the camelbak line attachment would be? I'm pretty sure REI has it for $40 and $8 for the camelbak quick fill adapter. Was just wondering if theres a cheaper place to get it.

Has anyone ever used the Therm-a-rest NeoAir Dream?
Wondering if it is worth the $ for truck/car camping.
    Thanks

Honestly for just truck/car camping i went out and bought one of the coleman blowup air mattresses. Nice and comfy for when you dont care about weight. Just another idea since the NeoAirs are a bit pricy (quick google search)

Yeah, the problem with the air mattress is that it is very thick once inflated. I like the slimness of the Thermarest. That is what is attracting me. Didn't know if there was anything as good or if this was it.

I've owned several different brands of inflatable backpacking mattresses. I've never had a good experience with any of them aside from thermarest and REI brand. Those are the only two I trust. Big Agnes looked like I shot it with a shotgun I had to patch it so many times, alps tore at the seams, mtn hardwear made one back in the day that literally popped like a balloon when I laid on it lol

I love my ThermaRest Pro Lite Plus, but for car camping I'd for sure get something thicker and more plush. Thermarest makes a super thick mattress pad (or they used to a few years ago), I didn't see it on the REI site just a minute ago so I assume it's discontinued. That said, it looks like the NeoAir Dream is a replacement version.

When I'm car camping I'll use my PLP and a Thermarest Ridgerest So Lite underneath just because (1) I can, and (2) I have a surplus of pads. My fiance had a Big Agnes inflatable (non insulated) picked from the Outlet, I think it was an Iron Mountain? We returned it. The Big Agnes pads have as large of a following as Thermarest, as I've noticed over the past decade. I don't think either makes a bad pad. There is a difference in functionality in design over a self inflating closed cell foam pad and a blow up. I wouldn't hesitate to buy an insulated Big Agnes pad.

That said.. if I was in the market for an insulated inflatable, I'd be looking at the EXPED Down Mat or Syn Mat.

In my opinion, the Klymit StaticV is the best bang for the buck on an inflatable. Packs down to the size of a Nalgene, and I haven't had a single leak in it yet. For $60, you can't beat it. I'm a tall big guy and it really distributes my weight very well for only being 1" thick. I fill it about 2/3 full and it's perfect.

Perfect for summer, maybe. 1.3 R value is super low.

Stuff it in your sleeping bag and the game changes. Snug fit in a mummy bag though, unless you're small. They have a line of insulated models as well. I run warm, so insulation in my pad isn't necessary, even in a hammock.

You've already proven you know what you're talking about, so I won't question your need for insulation. ;)

Just bought myself a Sawyer Mini 0.1 from Amazon for $16. Can't wait to test it out.

I was nervous when I first used mine, but you'll love it. I recommend buying their larger squeeze bags. The one that it comes with is only 16oz, and they sell 32 and 64oz separately. It's less tedious with a larger bag, since you won't have to be refilling as often when filtering.

At first I was thinking of buying a MSR filter but after reading the reviews and comparing the price difference, I went with the Sawyer. I plan to buy the 64oz bags. I also bought their fast fill attachment to refill directly into my camelbak.
