That’s going to be a forest service permit. Depending on when, should be easy to get.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you think there's still moisture trapped in there, you might look at this: https://backpackinglight.com/forums/topic/66435/

Thank you! Would love to do it sometime in summer 2018. Ive applied for Whitney Portal a couple of times and never got it. So hoping Kearsage exit Whitney would be easier. Looking at possible end of july 2018. Gotta see how the snow will be this winter first.

When backing, for breakfast I usually like to have a bar so that I don't have to cook and clean. Besides Cliff bars, does anyone have some recommendations they enjoy? How are the probars?

It’s still a Clif bar, but a different line: The nut butter ones with the peanut butter filling are really awesome

I actually had some of those on my last trip. They were pretty good. Not as dry as the regular Clif bars.

Just a bunch of old crap
    These are still my favorites:
    • Larabar - tons of variety. I like the key lime and the cherry pie ones because they're more like a dessert
    • RXbar No BS bars - like a thick taffy so you get a different texture to chew on. No BS means no preservatives and very simple but natural ingredients. Salted caramel is the bomb
    • Caveman bars - found by the box at Costco - really good calories per oz stats, and they taste like a really good candy bar but have better protein content
    • Kind bars - when I want more nuts than chew
    • Munch peanut bar candy bars - OMG so good, and they don't melt that easily
I'm pretty much done with Clif bars but occasionally I will eat a nut butter filled one only because I still have a couple left. After those are gone, I'm not buying anymore of them.

The part of the Merced at LYV was an awesome slow deep pool with a sandbar. Felt so good to get in there and rinse off. Other parts, no way.

I forgot about the larabars. I had one once and it was pretty good. Wasn't a bar though. They were some bite size pieces.

Where's the best place to pick one of these up? Any suggestion on best size if it would primarily be used as a pump for the pads? I'd probably store them in it too inside my camper.

A friend of mine said that the REI used gear sale is starting today. Just a heads up for camp gear discounts

Both online and retail should be active

    The REI Used Gear Beta?

    https://www.rei.com/used

If so, it has been going for about a week or so already, got a pair of trail shoes for $30 that are literally brand new. Original price was like $130 or so...

Great program for sure! Just wish there was a way to see what new gear was added recently.

if you just plan on using it for a pump I would either look at one of the pillows http://www.exped.com/usa/en/product-category/mats/pillow-pump
or the simple Schonzzle sack http://www.exped.com/usa/en/product-category/mats/schnozzel-pumpbag-ul-m
I got mine from Moosejaw I think or Maybe REI
