I'm the field manager of an adventure based therapy program.

Essentially I spent 3.5 years working as a wilderness guide and then moved to coordinate and plan wilderness adventure trips.

This was a film crew making a film for our website to show what we do.

Very cool. Its amazing seeing people experience something new outside, especially when it gets them out of their comfort zone just a little.

Oh yea I completely agree. It's such an awesome thing to see someone at the end of a hard day's hike and see how proud they are of themselves after they completely didn't believe in themselves that morning before the hike.

I saw it on a map the other day. I've been all over Linville and all over Pisgah but have never been there. Best route?

    Driving route or climbing?

Driving I'd say from Asheville get off exit 100 turn into nc181 and follow that until you see long ridge babtist church and take a right onto the gravel road that runs beside it. That'll take you right to the trailhead for LLCC

And if you have any Nat Geo maps it's the Linville Gorge, Mt Mitchell map that has all the hiking trails

I picked up an Asprey - Atmos 65 AG. It's the second backpack I've owned and I hope it serves me well.

What works for you guys when you're backpacking/through hiking?

    Too any packs.
The biggest pack for multi day trips is an Osprey. Can't remember the model. Great pack. It is one of their older ones.
Have a Granite Gear for lightweight bping. Like that one a lot. Took this on a multiday trip in the ADKs.
An LLBean for BC skiing. Very durable.
Gregory for mid sized day trips. Got a good deal on it.
Mountainsmith lumbar pack that is now my sons diaper bag. Works great!
Hmmm....what else. Think there may be one or two that I left out.
Oh, Patagucci black hole. Great bag. And a NF that is a bigger version of that one.

I've got the Osprey Argon 85 and absolutely love it. I've beaten on this thing repeatedly and never had an issue out of it.
