Probably a bit heavy for back packing. I have their two person hammock for naps while truck camping and it’s stout AF. Their tents look cool though. May be a fit for you?

That was what ripped lol. Purely operator error, not a material defect. I liked it, but in order to run a permanent ridgeline I had to add weight with clips and such or have the net slung all the time and I disliked that, so I'm considering other options.

Oh, lol. That's where I was leaning, a buddy has one he loves.

I'll look into these, I've heard of them all and they seem well reviewed.

You'll need to explain the difference to this noob. I understand a gathered end, but what's a bridge hammock?

Friend of mine has that exact stove and loves it. I used it last year on our annual daddy daughter camping trip.

I use a Partner Steel stove in my teardrop. A little expensive, but worth every penny. https://partnersteel.com/

They have several sizes and burner configurations, so you should be able to find one that works for you.

I know you had issues with the design of the hammock, but if you want a replacement just remember they have a no questions asked lifetime warranty. Also I’ve heard of people running those hammocks upside down when they don’t want to use the net. May be another option for you. Either way I hope you get it figured out

Would really dig a review from you in a couple months on the DS. I’m in an arcteryx cerium SL now and dig it but gear nerds are never happy.

Yea id like to hear thoughts on it as well. I have been rocking a camo Killik puffy jacket. I love it but I dont always want to be in a camo jacket.. I prefer a little brighter of colors when out hiking around in public lands so I dont become victim of someone that shoots at movement.

Anyone have any good recommendations on a non inflatable (but thick, I dont want a military Iso mat or thermarest) and relatively thick sleeping mat? I am looking for one for the back of my truck when car camping alone or with the dog. Ive got a bed mat but its not quite thick enough to eliminate the ridges in the bed.

I'll report back with a more detailed reviewed after giving it more use. So far what I like is that material. It feels more abrasion resistant than some of the other down jackets out right now. Also warmer than my Patagonia Nano Puff, but that was to be expected. lighter and warmer than the MH Kor Strata also. I plan to head to Bishop next week so hopefully will get real camping and climbing experience in it. Water beads off it really nicely, but its still new.

We are both using their rechargeable models and have zero complaints. I’ve used Petzl products From their climbing gear range for years without issue.

Edit: these are the overkill headlamps that we currently have, aims somewhere in my gear pile is one of their Zipka models which I like as well.

I have an oem bed mat. Then I use foam pad and an inflatable on top of that. Seems to be enough.

I’ve tried sleeping on just an inflatable on the bed mat and it wasn’t enough. The additional foam pad helps a lot.
