Great idea. I'm not sure why I never thought of using a bubble level to keep my eggs from running away from me on the griddle.

That's quite an upgrade from my current method of using a blue foam sit pad in the chair.

I have a thing I got a few years ago, can't remember where. Its a thin aluminum sheet that attaches to the back and seat of your chair and reflects the heat radiating from the fire back to you. Can be a little awkward to use but it does work - when the wind changes direction and blows between it and you you can feel the cold right away.

Mine saw all the heated clothing in the Milwaukee tool catalog, she was going to order some stuff until I let her know that she’s got to order her own batteries as she’s not taking any of mine. Her interest dropped to zero immediately after.

I'm looking to add to the winter shelter collection and was curious if anyone has done a tipi from Seek Outside before. If so, with the stove? Which one?

    Thanks!

I've heard you can't go wrong with any tipi from SO. I use a Luxe Outdoors Tipi. A few oz heavier, but 1/4 the price.

That's what I was also wondering. Quality of SO vs. others. Obviously they're expensive as hell but if I'm out hunting in late November in a foot of snow, it may be worth it if it's that much better, lol.

I haven't even had anyone around me use a SO. Guess my friend demographic just cant afford one  I've been happy with my LO Tipi. Plenty Big for 2 people plus gear. I'm still getting used to the pole in the middle of the tent idea but its worked out well. I've had mine in wind storms up to 35mph and held strong. My buddy has the larger version and has had his in some brutal country. Blizzards, wind, hail. Everything. Held up great he said. I have no experience with stoves though. I kinda wish I would have gotten one with a stove jack, but I'm happy without for now.

Been a fan of Jetboils for years--Interesting features with the swing handle and locking top, but... the most interesting part of the video for me was the propane-to-butane adaptor. Did not know these existed. Just ordered a stand-alone adaptor for next weekend's outing. (Thanks!) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0891LP1J5/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_pJoCFbDBQMDQY

I just picked one up this weekend. I stopped by Walmart and someone had opened one and ripped the top off the box. After making sure all the parts were still there, the guy at the gun counter marked it down to $50 because of the open box.

My GF and I made some Ramen noodles into a Pad Thai type backpacking recipe. It turned out good and the stove worked well. I did notice that the flame control was very sensitive on the stove. Once you get it about a 1/4 turn, the flame is a big as it's going to get. If you want to turn it down, it's not hard, but small adjustments make a considerable difference.

Dang, the video is no longer available.

I bought a Jetboil early during the lockdown, and I'm looking forward to finally putting it to use next month.
