If the weight of the tent is not a concern take a look at the Kodiak canvas or Springbar canvas tents. I have had my Kodiak (6' x 8-1/2') in some 50-60+mph winds and it held up like a champ. It's the perfect size for my son and I but the larger ones have a lot more headroom. There are several other members here that have the 10' x 10' and have had the same results in the wind.

Thanks for the tip! I had seen those and looked briefly so it's nice to have a recommendation. I think the 6'x8.5' would work fine but it'd be nice to go a little larger both in footprint and headroom, 10'x10' is a little large but maybe the 9'x8' would be perfect.

I picked up this cot for $5 at the flea market but I can't get the damn thing to fold up. Any ideas?

The bar on the foot and head should pull outwards of the alignment pins and then slide out of the fabric

Undo the bars at the ends.

Then it will fold inwards like a hot dog bun, and into thirds.

I hated those and will never sleep on them ever again.

@foxrcing07 should be right but it will be really difficult to pull apart unless the fabric is super loose.

Someone's YT video showing setup of an army style cot like that to understand how they work.

We use Coleman cots like this. Keeps us off the ground and are comfortable enough with a small self inflatable camping pad on top.

Thanks. My FIL said to lay down on it and use my feet to push the end bars out. When I was messing with it earlier I couldn't get them to move. Also said something about using the outer most holes?

We buy allot of Trailtopia meals but I have a mate that swears by the peak meals. Recon I’ll be trying a sampler box.

I’ve used them for two years and haven’t had a bad one yet. And they don’t have that typical MRE twang that most backpacking meals have.

Are they super high in sodium like all the others I’ve tried?

I eat them and my fingers swell up like sausages.
