Anything for Sawyer and Katadyn are excellent... Also.. all water filters are basically made the same with the same insides.
It doesn't need to be fancy to work, water filtration has been around for a long long time.

I personally prefer the Sawyer stuff, but that's just me. The Sawyer Squeeze can be on Amazon I think for $30 and it works amazing. Fast too. Katadyn BeFree is very very fast. Like 2 liters in under a minute.

YEP! The Sawyer squeeze is sort of the gold standard, as it works so universally. I do go backpacking fairly often, and just been getting by with the mini because I usually only need to filter water once per trip, and the mini has gotten me by just fine, it's just a bit slower. Someone did mention the platypus quick draw and that is also good. Here is another reminder though that the water filter they all use is the same material basically... you're buying a design more than anything.

One setup I saw was someone using a 2L CNOC bag and the "dirty" side, and you can fill it by just dunking it in a lake since the top fully opens.
Then screw in your Sawyer squeeze, and hook up a 2L Smartwater bottle (or fill up 2x 1L), and you can roll the bag down, and it will literally filter 2L of water in about 20 seconds.
Only downside is that if the bag breaks on a trip that's not fun.

A lot of PCTers bring 4x 1L Smartwater bottles, instead of using 2L bottles.
Reason is, is if you drop a bottle where you cannot retrieve it, you only lose 25% of your potential water, and not 50%. Plus its easier to "Tetris" them in your pack.
1 of these is used as the "dirty" side and the other 3 for clean water.
Smartwater bottles are very popular due to the durability per weight, and the sleek bottle design.

I used to work at the Arcteryx brand store and have a pretty big collection of their gear. Thinking of selling off a few pieces and gauging interest here. Everything is men's size medium.

Cerium SV Hoody (new $575 asking $400). Has been on a few big mountain trips but really only seen about a month of cumulative use. In great shape, no snags or tears since I always wore a Beta AR over it.

BNIB Alpha SV shell jacket (Retail $800 asking $600) brand new, never used Alpha SV. I thought I might have a use for this but it's been sat in its original bag in a storage box for 3 years. Time for a new home.

Yeah I agree man the gear is expensive as hell but it's top quality. I was only working there part time after my day job and probably spent more money buying gear than I was paid haha

I've got a Proton LT and Atom AR. The Atom AR is why I'm ready to part ways with the Cerium SV. It's just a fantastic synth jacket and super warm

Well I went ahead and ordered several items from Schwarze Biene Outdoor. One really cool thing I didn't realize is that the "Woody" attachment comes with an insert which can be used with tripods.

Looks like you have a Softopper on the truck. How do you carry the canoe? Cab rack?

some gear pics from my recent trip to Lake Superior Provincial Park. took my Nova Craft Prospector 15 in tuffstuff on a late season canoe trip to the interior of the park. slept in my Big Agnes Seedhouse SL 2 (perfect 1 person tent), and of course because it's bear country I had the bear barrel of food & separate portage pack for tent, sleeping bag, & clothing. Bending Branches paddles, primary being the Black Pearl carbon (weighing in at exactly 16oz), and wood backup - both bent shaft 54". I'm 5'10" these are a great size for me.
