Their camping hook clips are the best! Use them every campout/picnic for grocery size trash bags.

That's one of the things I picked up. It's ok but I need to field test it.

I bought a new set of military sleeping bag systems to try out for the overlanding season- and it came with a military truck!

I don’t have that one but I do have the Hill People Gear backpacker’s serape which is very similar. It’s been a faithful companion on a couple of deployments and I keep it in my day pack during shoulder seasons and winter.

It does a great job at keeping you warm when stationary but you will overheat quickly if moving. The HPG version is configured with a half zipper which allows you to “wrap up” the hem of the wobbie when in greatcoat mode so you don’t have the billowing that comes with a regular poncho type covering. That half zip also allows it to be configured into a sleeping quilt (good for summer temps down to about 50* in my case). It also does a good job as an over quilt for boosting a regular sleeping bag’s temperature rating.

I think either one would be a good piece of kit to add to your bag based on your adventures (I follow your build thread). Decide what features you want and grab the version you like best.

Great info I have always wanted the original mountain Serape but they are always sold out and sell out in what seems like minutes.. Hopefully one day I can pick one up I see where Carinthia has a version as well now it's super expensive but if it's anything like their sleeping bags it's probably worth it.

HPG gear does sell quick when it come in stock. They will tell you to sign up for product notifications to try to grab one when they have then. Also, from conversations with them, unless you are a really big guy the backpacker size will do fine. The backpackers seem to come in stock quicker, additionally, be flexible on color. They do color runs in batches so being flexible on color is the best way to luck out and grab one. I think I was on the wait list for about 2 months before I got one.

Glad you were able to snag one. Until you can grab the backpacker size the original size will work as an emergency blanket/wrap for 2 according to Evan Hill. He carry’s one for that reason.

    Nice.
Looks similar to helinox sunset chair.
I gotta say, that photo on the sand ... wait till someone sits on it.
Will lower mode work on soft ground?
