    Agreed. Great solution.
    Find a construction site doing tyvek, and get a scap piece big enough.
    Wash it in the washing machine to soften it, and make it quieter.

    It's the material they wrap houses in before putting on the siding. It's durable and waterproof and works wonderfully as a ground tarp

    Fair point but most of the time they are covered by the actual tent itself so I’ve never stressed about that

    Tyvek is good stuff, I've used it for years under the footprint that came with the tent. I don't use any grommets.

    Most tent materials are not UV resistant either. That's why expedition tents for high altitude camps are made from polyester, not nylon.
