Think I’m heading up there next weekend. Copper top probably open for pick up I would imagine. I’ll see what I can find when I go.

Does anyone know if any of the campsites on BLM 3255 (Coxey road from Apple Valley to Fawnskin) are open? Don't know if they can close the BLM road?

Figured it out. When I try on my phone it tries to open in google maps app and for some reason doesn’t show up. But if I cancel that out I can get it in a browser. Thanks.

don't know but i've been there about four times without any trouble. usually only see twoish groups of people run through during the night. i don't use a tent, just sleep in the bed of the truck so it's pretty lowkey...a couple times ago a ranger drove by and didn't give us any guff. you can also drive up above the canyon, just before the gate to joshua tree, and be more out of the way.

Baja. Sorry bro. Salton Sea...??? I’ve honestly never thought of camping there but... I have no idea if it’s even possible.

Lake Wohlford in Escondido, Lake Morena...but neither are dispersed camping. There are spots right next to the water at Lake Wohlford that are pretty secluded. Morena can get crowded. There's the La Jolla Indian Reservation Campground right by the river you can go tubing down, but there that one tends to be crowded and lots of kids. Those are the first three that come to mind but I'm sure there's more out there, especially remote sites. Whether or not someone wants to share that though is a different story!

Edited to say you can camp at the Salton Sea, the new campgrounds/rec area on the north eastern shore are pretty nice. We went with a group of like 15 people for a birthday a while ago. We were the only ones there. If you go when it's not hot as balls out the "sea" doesn't have that gross smell. Just don't go in the water. You can only look at it lol
