Anyone going up Thursday? Or everyone going up Friday?

I could do Thursday-Saturday (would need to leave Saturday evening as I work Sundays).

Exactly...staffing in SF is brutal. I've been lucky, I hired a rock solid staff to open a new spot and almost all are still with me. I know this isn't the norm. I have a bunch of chef friends thay are struggling to find help.

i will probably be leaving Friday after work (4:30p)-ish if you wanna caravan up. I just Gaia'd up the possible sites and route. Would just need a location confirmation before leaving so i know which one to crash into.

Yup, I run a tech company cafe. I'm super lucky with the staff I have. I'm the newest employee at 10 years....my longest started in the late 80's. We have ridiculous benefits and a super low turnover rate...8% company wide and that's with 3,000 employees in 26 states.

But when it comes down to it for new hires cash is king. Pay rates are dictated by budgets which are largely dictated by the host company where we work. It seems that most tech companies think the labor market is where it was 5-8 years ago. When I can't get a new hire I have a semi-permanent person from a temp agency...who costs a whole lot more than just hiring someone. Really makes no sense whatsovever.

We should have a spot by the time you leave. I plan on driving back to town, or until I get a signal, to post coordinates. I'll have signs posted too.

Yup you are absolutely correct! On on top of that food cost, rents, utilities, insurance and everything else has been going up and cutting in to profits. This time of the year when companies like Amazon and Walmart or other big retailers hire lots of temp employees with higher pay, it is very hard to find people. Also, even if you are making $15 or $16/hr, you still can't afford to live in the bay area. I feel lots and lots of people have moved out of the area creating worst crisis I have seen in a decade that I have been business in.

To anyone that asked, this place gets super cold. Might even hit high 20s.

Late September, it got down to 34 degrees

I have a super slim change of having Friday off.
That's not super cold. That's called mildly chilly. Super cold isn't until like -15 or so.

Edit: -15 is fucking cold...super cold is colder.
