I've been itching to go take the truck out to some light trails. Anyone doing anything sometime this month, or coming up soon?

Bonfire run, huge event for us. We have leaded trail runs where you sign up for your trail lead and such. I might take a group even if school allows and the truck is driving again.

I might just do the same. I have been thinking about joining an off road community in the Houston area but have not spent time looking for any.

What do you drive? I'm pretty much stock with sliders. I don't want to be overwhelmed since a lot of the rigs that go up there seem pretty heavily modded.

For Bonfire? idk depends if @Toyboata and I can get my truck driving tomorrow. I am, however, shopping for a tow truck today... and have been on @allpro 's website all morning...

If I can get the truck driving i'll probably go and trail lead if Bob wants me to. Be part of the open diff life again, #LightsNotLocks

12 trd off road. OME kit and wanna be 33". Basic truck but I have a super sweet high lift jack! No armor to lift the truck from but I'm working on it. I had the same fears as you but people earlier in this thread talk about stock trucks out having fun without damage to trucks. IMG_0215.jpg

This is true. All depends on the line you drive, who you drive with and how patient you are. I went with a stock taco fresh off the lot and was fine. Did lose a bumper but in hindsight I probably could have salvaged it if I were a little more patient. Also some light pinstriping (that I'm still baffled by). Another member when stock and ended up with a ding near the door I think. In any case, I'm still positive you can roll out of there without damage.

Honestly, don't let that put you off. Had I been more patient -- or better yet, not gone that way, it could have been avoided. Go with people that know the park (there's a lot of people here that go fairly often and are happy to help someone learn the ropes) and stick to trails you feel comfortable with. If something doesn't feel right, go around. I don't think you'd even touch your sliders unless you tried. Best thing IMO is just to have the right mindset. You bought an off-road capable truck with the intent of taking it off road. It's fun having a good looking, well cared for taco, but a little mishap here and there is the price you'll pay eventually. You either accept it or you stick to the mall.
