Well marble falls is booked with events pretty much through october. Not enough space left for all of us. May have to push it until spring unless we all just try to get a random camping trip set up somewhere else.

Well each weekend we tried to look at in the fall was booked with an event. So I'm thinking we can get an sole sort of an event on the books with them. Hopefully even freeing up plenty of camping spots.

You're looking at several thousand dollars to book an event at the park. Just show up and meet some new people. New wheeling buddies are cool.

Yeh you don't need to book anything. Just avoid one of the REALLY big events (like polar bear run). The park is massive and even thanksgiving there's plenty of camping spots in primitive. You don't need to contact them just show up with a group and go.

Warning though, getting above 5 in one group is a clusterfuck, especially when it's varying skill level. The noobs feel rushed and pressured and the experienced guys end up waiting and getting bored. I'm more experience but I'll happily help a few new people out, as long as it's a few and everyone acknowledges we're gonna go slow. Otherwise there's pressure from both sides. A massive group sounds fun, but it gets tedious, especially the more time you spend on the trails.

At that point you break it up though into smaller groups. Last time I went I think we had about 10 or 12 rigs in our group. Ended up with two smaller groups: an advanced one and a beginner. Which fit nicely into your recommended size. I think the beginner group that I was in had 6 or 7, which worked fine. Definitely wouldn't want to go any bigger.

I was wondering about this. The website says they have spots available and no reservation needed for primitive tent camping. I was also wondering if we are required to camp in the "area b" if we are tent camping? I thought I saw someone posting that they would be camping at "tower" that on the map looks like its not in the camping area.

I have an ome lift and 33" tires. Could I still go to the park and do a good amount of trails without sliders? Or stay home and save up for sliders? (hope I get some for x-mas)

Tower is a scenic spot that you can get to easily or go up Jody's, which is a really fun section of trail. It's where everyone takes pics:

Area B is primitive camping. You can use something like a small trailer or camper though. If it's packed we'll start moving RVs out of B and wrangling them up into different sections to give primitive campers more of a fair experience
