Hey everyone I am looking to purchase a new 2022 TRD off-road 6mt and I know it’s slim pickins out there and the closest one to me is about 700 miles away. I went on Toyota website and saw they didn’t show a 6mt as an option on the build tool for TRD sport OR off-road. Also, no colors except electric blue is available. Can anyone tell me whether or not I can order one with 6mt in a decent color or are these currently the only options? Also, if I can order one, what kind of timeline am I looking at before I get my hands on it? Thanks for any info provided

In Canada, the same 3 models in MT are still available.

Thanks for the reply! I’m about 1500 miles from Canada though

Best I can do on my phone... the American site isn't working for me, won't let me enter a Zip code. From what I did see of available models, was the same MT selection though, Sport AC MT, OR DC and Pro.

What you can "build" on the website is controlled by the Toyota Region that covers the Zip Code you're using. I'm in northeast PA and can still "build" both Sport and OR models with MT in all colors. The fact that you can't "build" one like you want means that the Region does not have any allocations remaining. The reality, though, is that you need to find a dealer that has an allocation for what you want, or close to it, or who is willing to trade with another dealership to get your vehicle.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
In my region (CT) I can configure a TRD Off Road with a manual trans BUT it has to be a double cab short bed. Color selection is not limited.

Toyota's website is kinda funky and only shows what is available currently in your area, however if you were trying to build an Access Cab OR MT that combo is only available in Canada.

    Look and see.....
I'm in the PNW and have a '22 ORP 6MT on "order". Build date is slated for Jan 11 and am quoted a 30-45 day wait before delivery and I put in a deposit around Thanksgiving time.
Like someone has said earlier, it's dependant on your region as my zip code allows me to build what I'm getting on the website. Hope this helps you.

Toyota sold 252,520 in the US last year. Still can't see why some of those couldn't have been TRD OR AC manuals, or SR SX AC manuals. Toyota could build more access cabs and that would be a move in the right direction.

Toyota says the AC sits on the lot longer than the DC. That's because the AC is priced too high too sell not due to the lack of demand.

Thanks everyone. I have tried several zip codes and looks like Atlanta is the closest option for me to build the double cab with manual in OR trim. I wish I would’ve kept my ‘20 taco but times were tough. Thanks again

Out of curiosity, I searched. Out of 132 tacos at local dealerships, only 2 were manuals.

I guess you take what you can get…

No shame in needing to sell your truck.

A new one will come along. Just research and be willing to travel for a deal. Flights to ATL can be cheap.

I have used Cars.com to do a nation wide search. Helped me see what's out there.

Using a California zip code, you can build an off road DC short bed 3.5 with MT. Sport model also available with MT in DC and AC. They don’t sell a lot of trucks with MT anymore and they are probably only allocated to dealers who want them or process specific customer orders. I don’t have any complaints with my 2016 AT (so far with 6 years/55k). But agree that MTs are more fun to drive.

The one manual at my local dealer has it's "Factory Window Sticker" created on December 3, 2021. It's been sitting there a while....
The two automatics are less than a week old.
There is one I4 AC Taco on the lot, and it's been there just as long as the manual...

Man, it’s just a brutal market out there. I’m so glad my truck is paid off and only has 70k. Hopefully by the time I’m ready to buy a new one supplies will be back to normal.

best of luck on your search!

If you have your $'s and options locked down, I would contact a local dealer you like and have them check allocations. Then they can do some trading when the spec'd vehicle comes up somewhere else. That is how I bought mine. The website is not as accurate as the dealers tools. Be prepared with 2nd choices (color, options, etc) as the dealer is going to try to sell you every truck that comes available, whether or not it meets your requirements.
