Looks a bit like the Highlander, not the end of the world to me. Rather have it outside of warranty than a ZR2 though.

They do. The ‘bring the Tacoma to Australia’ crowd exists. The Ranger sells so well there because the Toyota is so hideous.

How about that new Jeep Gladiator Truck with the diesel? AKA the Tacoma crusher...

There will be a sizeable market for it.
    But...Tacoma crusher?
    I'm skeptical.

Toyota already said no diesel coming
It was just a mess up in concept pictures they have no intentions of bringing a diesel to North American market.

Why would anyone want one of these new diesels? It seems like no company is immune these days to having problems, expensive problems with after treatment systems.

Why be skeptical? Its certainly plausible. Jeep sells more units, has a bigger cult and there's nothing that the Tacoma can do better than the Gladiator

    Exactly
I've had diesel before the mpg is great but the maintenance sucks and it's even worse in the new ones.
Besides I'm in Canada and not far enough North to get good winter diesel. The diesel they give us here in southern Ontario is shit in the winter.
You'll sooner see a hybrid than a diesel.

Sometimes when I come home from work I want to pull my belt off and lay into the girlfriend for a few minutes to sate the stress of a long day. That and she started watching Swamp People without me and there's only two Bud Lights left in the fridge. There was 22 when I left this morning.

Tonight is romance night we're in the honeymoon phase again so Applebee's it will be.

I would get one in a heart beat. I had one a few years ago in Australia, loved every ounce of the D4D engine.

Plus the additional up front cost, a Diesel Tacoma would be pushing 50 grand, just cannot see that selling.
