I definitely like the look of the bigger tires with a lift but are you guys with 285’s using anything to correct your speedo or just living with it? Can the dealer change the tire diameter in the ECU or can it be done with a tuner (OV Tune??)

I didn't do this (it's only 2-3 mph off at 60 - 70), but you can buy one of these and do it yourself:

Hey man it would be cool if you posted up a pic of your rig with this set up! I'm trying to decide if I want to go 265-75-16 or blow it up with a 285-75-16 set of bad boys!

If you don't needed the width, 255/85R16's fit stock 3rd gens, most are true 33's.

I have 884 ome coils with bilstein 5100s at the lowest setting. Found the coils cheap locally or I would have probably gone with 885s.

Yeah... they just do! (Big ol fat Ridge boys no less!) I'm trying real hard to be a tad more ...responsible..? Trying to keep mpg's a little more reasonable, cost, weight, gearing etc. But damn....33's! Thanks for the encouragement!

I like the titanium looking wheels with MGM. What brand are those, they look like 17 inch?

I'm running 265/70/17 tires on my kit that's 2 in the front and 1.5 in the rear. Always wondered if I could have fit 285s since I know they would look better.

Ugh, that video gets reference a lot but what a lot of people don't know is he came back on TW and said he still has rubbing issues.

I don’t think you’ll be disappointed, but I do recommend doing the cmc and pinch weld.

What are you guys running for the 2/1 level? I really want that set up and I'm trying to figure out the best way to go about it. I'm strongly considering the RC spacer due to this being purely cosmetic.

285s require trimming even with a lift.
    255/85R16 do not.

Can you please point out where did you get this info if you trust the source. I have 16x8 wheels 0mm offset and 4.5 backspace and want to fit 285’s without lifting but willing to do trimming. Thanks!

    And you’re running 285’s correct?

You’ll rub with no lift. I have same size wheels with 265 75 16 and didn’t rub when stock but was real close when off roading at certain angles.

My truck did not shift well at all with 285’s, 265’s, or stock tires.

However, after OVTune my truck drives better than it did on stock tires :)
More power, better mpg, and no more low end misfires... it’s a win-win-win

OP, my truck rubbed a ton with 2.5” suspension lift and 285’s. (stock UCA)

I had to get a CMC, and I trimmed my inner fenders quite a bit.
