Why does everyone go to the dealer? That's like calling up your realtor when the water heater goes out.

There are places that specialize in certain types of vehicle repair. AC, transmission, tires.

I would love to take it to a ac specialist. In my podunk town there is none, heck I have to drive 40 miles to a dealer. We don’t even have a McDonald’s or radio shack or Walmart.

I would still drive 100 miles to an AC specialist, rather than go to the dealer. The only way a dealer is going to touch my truck is for a free frame swap.

If I did that I would have to get a hotel room also. I know I’m old but I’m not stupid.

Power the coil with a drill battery and check the other pics for continuity

Just switched the ac relay with the horn relay and the relay isn’t the problem.
The clutch is engaging on the compressor, I could feel it trying to cool off, so I think it needs a transfusion.

Relays are so cheap if I suspect them I just replace them. Same with fuses.

You probably have a leak. Just buy a refill kit at the auto parts store and see what happens when you try to re-charge it.

Piling on this thread but my A/C just went out, I turn it on and the light just flashes after a second or two, I'm guessing not refrigerant, and don't know where the relay mentioned above is, It's not the fuse. Thanks and if I should really be posting in a new thread let me know

Test it with an ohm meter by jumping it on the battery. Connect a wire to one side of the coil to a hot lead off the fuses. Then ground the other lead and the NO side of the relay should drop to near zero resistance.
